History
CBO Name - Triveni Samaj Vikas Kendra
From the year 2006 Triveni is working with TG / Hijra population in the Malad, Malwani area in Mumbai division. Triveni stated working with Family health association for BMGF Aastha project. After the successful completion Aastha project Triveni awarded with MDACS TI.
Still Triveni associate with Aastha Parivaar (A federation of CBOs who formed under Aastha Project in Mumbai & Thane districts) working on Organizational Development (OD) Grants.
In the all 10 years work we found one thing that very less number of crisis are reporting. Behind the very less reporting crisis is lack of knowledge and lack awareness of human rights. Under this project we decide to address these issues.
Objectives of CBO
- To increase awareness regarding STI, HIV and AIDS through Behaviour Change and Communication
- To build capacity of staff, peer educators, stakeholders and service providers in implementing strategies and sustaining the program.
- Community Mobilization through formation of Self Help Groups and CBOs.
- To create enabling environment through Advocacy & Networking with stakeholders in the project area.
- To sensitize the policy makers about trans genders and their issues
- To provide early diagnosis, counseling and treatment for STI and referral s for HIV.
